An antique fly trap for use in the home.

As you know I run a chemical free household, so I have to find alternative, natural remedies.

This often means looking to the past.

The basin at the bottom of the clear glass dome would have been filled with a small amount of sugar water, (I prefer apple cider vinegar and a few drops of dishwashing detergent) for the flies to trap themselves in. The three small wire feet elevate the whole for the flies to enter underneath.

There is supposed to be a lid or cork on top to keep the insects from flying out but they were missing from these when I purchased them. The flies just love ACV so I tend not to worry about lids.

Adding a couple of drops of dishwashing detergent helps trap the flies in the ACV.
